NEDERLAND — Three Nederland players scored in double figures Tuesday, helping the Bulldogs blow out the West Orange-Stark Mustangs 70-42 in nonconference play.

Darrell Jones scored 18 points, Kevin Howard had 14 and Reid Garrett scored 11 for the Bulldogs (6-2), who were up 46-19 at halftime.

Next for Nederland is a pair of games in the Hardin-Jefferson Basketball Marathon on Thursday: the first at noon against Pollok Central and the second at 6 p.m. against Buna.

Anahuac 78, Sabine Pass 47

SABINE PASS — Anahuac shot 51 percent from the field and had a player score 46 points Tuesday in a rout of Sabine Pass.

The player, whose name was not available, shot 19 for 28 from the floor and 5 for 6 in free throws. He had 40 points through three periods.

Sabine Pass could not recover from a 27-11 second-quarter run that gave Anahuac a 46-32 halftime lead. The Sharks were outscored 11-3 in the final quarter.

Jamyus Jones scored 19 points to lead the Sharks. He made 10 of 15 free throws.

Daniel Sam added 17 points for SP, which made 14 of 40 from the field and 15 of 26 free throws. Anahuac hit 33 of 65 from the floor.

Also in boys action: High Island beat Bob Hope 58-28. In girls action: Nederland lost to Livingston 46-21.
