Boxtorow names PA’s Kennerson named National Player of the Week

Texas Southern sophomore and 2015 Port Arthur Memorial graduate Joyce Kennerson picked up maybe the biggest honor of her collegiate career this week.
The national radio show “From the Press Box to Press Row” (boxtorow.com) named her its National Player of the Week. Kennerson averaged 24 points, three steals and four rebounds in two Texas Southern wins.
She shot over 90 percent from the free throw line as the Tigers took down Prairie View A&M and Southern.
Kennerson and Texas Southern return home for a 5:30 p.m. Saturday game against Grambling State.
“From the Press Box to Press Row,” known as “Boxtorow” for short, is a syndicated program that is broadcast throughout the week at select times on SiriusXM 141 and 142.
