PREP ROUNDUP: Memorial girls survive two scoreless periods to win

Port Arthur Memorial needed only two periods to beat Port Neches-Groves on Tuesday.
Memorial did not score single point in the second or third quarters on its home court, but the Titans outscored PNG 20-10 in the final 8 minutes to take a 38-33 win Tuesday.
PNG (6-14, 2-4 in 22-5A) failed to score in the second frame as well after trailing Memorial 18-15, but outscored the Titans 8-0 in the third to take the lead.
Julia Sion and Kennedi Lofton each scored 12 points to lead the Titans. Sion also pulled down 11 rebounds.
Dakayla Miller chipped in eight points for Memorial.
PNG had 12 points from Chelsea Carrillo and 11 for Hannah Jones.
BOYS
Nederland 84, Livingston 36
LIVINGSTON — Four Nederland players scored in double figures Tuesday, and the Bulldogs evened their District 22-5A record with an 84-36 win over Livingston.
Kevin Howard scored 19 points, Darrell Jones had 18, Logan Foster netted 14 and Cade Smith poured in 11 for Nederland (20-7, 3-3), which has alternated wins and losses in district play.
The victory keeps the Bulldogs all alone in fourth place in 22-5A, as Port Neches-Groves and Livingston fell behind by one game. Nederland hosts Vidor on Friday to complete the first round of district play.
Kountze 99, Bob Hope 39
In Port Arthur, two Bob Hope players scored in double figures, but Kountze did not relent in winning by a giant margin.
Nick King scored 19 points and Chris May totaled 11 for Bob Hope (7-10, 0-6). Jaydon Daigle, Juan Esquivel and Johan Nakao each had three to complete the Eagles’ scoring.
The Eagles will try to break a six-game skid at Warren on Friday.

BOB HOPE 5, LIBERTY 0
LIBERTY — Jackie Cardenas pulled off a hat trick, leading Bob Hope to a shutout victory.
It was the second time in four days Cardenas scored three goals in a game. She did the same against Anahuac on Saturday.
Bianca Anaya and Daniela Gutierrez each added a goal.

BOB HOPE 3, LIBERTY 1
LIBERTY — Bob Hope earned a second hat trick of the day when Enry Reyes accounted for all of the Eagles’ scoring in Tuesday’s victory.
The Bob Hope teams will host Anahuac next Tuesday.
