JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the pedestrian killed after being struck by a vehicle on Texas 347 on Tuesday as Steven Ray Young, 29, of Lumberton.

A Ford pickup truck driven by a 21-year-old Lumberton man was traveling north and the pedestrian was attempting to cross the northbound traffic lanes when he was struck at about 7:15 p.m., according to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
