Chief Officer Gosmer Heber Phillips, 88, of Groves, Texas passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017.

Gosmer was born May 13, 1928 in Guanaja, Honduras to William Phillips and Addie Moore Phillips.

Gosmer was a resident of Groves for 61 years and a member of Groves Seventh Day Adventist Church.  He retired after 35 years of service from Texaco Marine.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Ethel Phillips of Groves; his children, Rhonda Simon and her husband Rodney of Groves, Penny Lee and her husband Andrew of Groves, Richard Phillips and his wife Mona of Groves, Jeannine Jones and her husband Mike of Nederland; sister, Velma Hyde of Guanaja, Honduras; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

A visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., Monday, April 24, 2017 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Mark Valadez officiating. Burial will be at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
