Jamie Sue Powledge

Jamie Sue Powledge of Nederland, formerly of Huntsville, entered eternal rest with her Savior on Monday, May 8, 2017.  A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017, at Wesley Methodist Church in Huntsville.  The family will receive visitors prior to the service at 10:00 a.m.

Jamie was born November 1, 1939, in Madisonville to Jim and Lizzie Belle Jernigan. Her family later moved to Huntsville where she graduated from Huntsville High School in 1958 and then attended Sam Houston State University. She worked for the Walker County Clerk’s Office for many years. She was a member of Wesley Methodist church in Huntsville.  Jamie was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1988 and moved to Nederland in 1999.  Her fondest memories were of living in the country where she raised her family.

Jamie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children, Laurie Wise and husband Hudson of Fairfield, Troy Powledge and wife Kitty of West, and Julie Hefner and husband Charles of Nederland.  She also had eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in honor of Jamie Powledge may be made to the National MS Society or to Wesley Methodist Church.
