Ed Chumley

Ed Chumley, 76, of Nederland, died Thursday, May 11, 2017 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas. He passed away peacefully, with no pain, surrounded by his wife, children, and friends. He was born on July 24, 1940, in Vernon, Texas to Lois Miller Chumley and Ember Elmo Chumley.

Ed was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He loved to hunt and fish and after retiring from E.T. Construction, he kept busy with small projects and antiquing.

A devoted family man and church goer, he is survived by his wife, Wanda Chumley of Nederland; children, Stephanie Perez of Nederland; Troy Chumley of Katy, and Tiffanie Chumley of La Porte; grandchildren, Cruz Perez, Kole Brandon, Kyri Perez, Kamille Bright, and Kye Bright; great-granddaughters, Ryleigh Perez and Sofia Perez; and numerous family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and two sisters.

A gathering of Mr. Chumley’s family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by his memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 20, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His cremation arrangements were under the direction of Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
