Kollsen Ray Carter

Kollsen Ray Carter, 14, of Nederland, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017. He was born on October 19, 2002, in Shenandoah, to Natasha Shea and Michael James Carter.
Kollsen enjoyed baseball, basketball, football, track, and played Trombone in the band. He loved to fish and hunt and was a jokester who always made others laugh. Kollsen was a lovable person making everyone feel at ease. His teachers loved him. He was always willing to share his time for others and help anyway he could. Kollsen was a well-rounded and rambunctious 14 year old boy.
Survivors include his mother and step-dad, Natasha Carter and Preston Gamblin; brothers, Ronnie, Derek, twin brother Kollby, and Ryan; step-brothers and step-sister, Hunter, Caden, and Baylee; and grandparents, Mary and Wendell Carter, Sandra Lawhon, Sandra and Adam Armstrong, Terry Bowman, Carolyn Marks, and David and Trudy Gamblin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael James Carter; and grandfather, Larry Wayne Schultz, Sr.
A gathering of Kollsen’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 16, 2017, at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3324 Park Drive, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Nederland, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Kollsen’s graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m., at Beauregard Cemetery, Highway 171, DeRidder, Louisiana.
