Leonard Paul Valsin, Sr. of Port Arthur died Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Jefferson Nursing Home in Beaumont, TX. A native of Abbeville, LA, he was a resident of Port Arthur for 59 years and retired from Huntsman Corporation. He was a former member of the Royalist Civic and Social Club.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Barbara Valsin; children, Denise Roberts of San Jose, CA, Leonard Paul Valsin, Jr. of Frisco, TX, Christopher C. Valsin, Sr. of Port Arthur, TX and Tonya Martin of Beaumont, TX; sisters Gracie Mae Valsin of Los Angeles, CA and Clara Mae Hollings of Abbeville, LA; brothers, Charles Valsin and Jimmy Ray Valsin of Port Arthur, TX; three sisters-in-law, one son-in-law, John Martin; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; a devoted friend John Tyler of Port Arthur; other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Gracie Mouton Valsin; two sisters, Annie Mae Hardy and Ruby Mae Hughes.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 8 a.m. until service time. Pastor John R. Adolph will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
