A man has died after an accident at the German Pellet silos at the port of Port Arthur. According city of Port Arthur spokesperson Risa Carpenter, the man, whom she identified as Hispanic, was unloading something Friday morning when material fell on him at around 7:30 a.m.

“He had to be extricated from the silo and he was pronounced deceased,” she said.

This is the latest accident to befall the facility which is in bankruptcy. This year the facility has had two fires, one of which destroyed one silo.
