Although he opened with a birdie, Andrew Landry struggled throughout most of the second round of the Sanderson Farms Championship Friday in Jackson, Mississippi and tumbled from a share of the lead to a tie for 17th.
After a first-day 66 at Jackson Country Club, Landry was one-over-par through 15 holes when play was suspended by rain late in the afternoon. He’ll resume his second round this morning five strokes behind 36-hole leader Ryan Armour.
Armour, who was one of four players tied with Landry after Thursday’s first round, backed up a 66 with a 68 and is 10 under.
Landry got to 7 under by sinking a 15-foot birdie putt on the first hole Friday, but fell all the way to 4 under after making bogeys at No. 5, No. 6 and No. 10. He got back one of those shots with a two-putt birdie on the par 5, 11th.
Television coverage of the third round begins at 1:30 p.m. today on the Golf Channel.
