As one Port Arthur business shuts its doors due to Tropical Storm Harvey, another one is soon to open.
Good Times Bar & Grill on Highway 73 at the Baymont Motel was inundate with floodwater. Owner Tony Nguyen said in late September he was unsure if he would reopen. The sign was taken down Friday morning.
The building received almost four feet of water and everything had to be gutted. He has no insurance and he was trying to contact the Small Business Administration.
Meanwhile, Arby’s will open down the road at Highway 73 and Twin City Highway at the site of the former Carl’s Jr. The restaurant should open later this month.
