Edwards resigns as Lamar volleyball coach

Alan Edwards has stepped down as Lamar volleyball head coach.

Lamar athletic director Jason Henderson announced Edwards’ resignation Tuesday afternoon. The Cardinals went 4-22 and 2-14 in the Southland Conference this season under Edwards, finishing with a five-game losing streak and winning only two of nine home matches.

Lamar went 6-22 last season, 14-16 in 2015 and 5-23 in 2014 under Edwards.
