McAlvin Jones, Sr.

McAlvin Jones, Sr., 88, of Port Arthur died Saturday, December 4, 2017 at his residence.  A native of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, he was a longtime resident of Port Arthur and a member of St. James Catholic Church.  He retired from Southern Pacific Railroad.

He is survived by his children Joseph (Charles) Jones, Sr., Annie (Beverly) Jones (deceased daughter-in-law), Gilbert (Gil) Jones, Betty Jones, daughter-in-law, Larry Jones, McAlvin (Mac) Jones, Audrey Jones Blanchard, Shirley Jones Barber (deceased), Harold Barber (deceased son-in-law); grandchildren, Harold (Pop) Barber, Arisca Barber, Houston, Texas, Lawanda (Denelle) Blanchard, Joseph (Boo) Jones all  Port Arthur, TX, Nolton (Putman) Blanchard, Baytown, TX, Christopher (Chris) Jones, Nederland, TX, Latrice (Tricee) Castillo, Honolulu, HI, Amos (James) Jones, Denton, TX; numerous great-grandchildren; a longtime friend, Martha Snowden, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 9 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017 at St. James Catholic Church with visitation from 8 a.m. until service time.  Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
