The Catholic community, spearheaded by St. Joseph Catholic Church in Port Arthur, hosted Las Posadas — a religious ceremony that commemorates Mary and Joseph’s difficult journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a place for the Christ Child to be born. Las Posadas starts on Dec. 16 and last nine evenings until Midnight Mass on Dec. 24.

Las Posadas was held on Monday night next to Taqueria Regional at the Jefferson Shopping Center in Port Arthur.
