Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies responded Monday to a call about a violent family situation in the 8400 block of Terry Road.
In an issued statement, the Sheriff’s Office said that Cory Alan James, 26, was charged with aggravated assault family violence with a weapon.
Deputies said around 10:50, James and family members argued and the suspect went to his bedroom and returned with a pump shotgun, pointing it at his family while continuing the quarrel.
Deputies set up a perimeter around the home and convinced James to leave the residence peacefully before surrendering.
James was taken to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility where he was booked.
