Carlos Martinez Ramirez, 89, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

He was born on November 4, 1928 to his parents, Genovevo Ramirez and Basilia Martinez Ramirez in Port Arthur, Texas. Carlos has been a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1948 and attended Lamar and earned several degrees/certificates in various trades. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Carlos owned and operated Ramirez Radio and TV for several years out of his home. He worked in the Elecrical Department for the City of Port Arthur for several years. Carlos retired from Mobil Oil as a supervisor after 10 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #7.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his 2 sisters and 6 Brothers, his son, Michael A. Ramirez and his grandson, Chris Ramirez.

Carlos is survived by his loving wife, Anna June Hutchinson Ramirez of Port Arthur,  his two daughters, Debbie Ramirez of Port Arthur, Linda Delgadillo and husband, Joe of Groves, his son, David Ramirez of Port Arthur. Those left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, Kenneth Sanford, Jr. and wife, Stacy, Bobby Sanford and wife, Cheri, Adam Ramirez, Brandon Ramirez, Michael Ramirez II, Savanna Vidalier, Justin Merritt, Dylan Merritt, Zeb Delgadillo and Zade Delgadillo. his great grandchildren, Adyn Sanford, Isabella Sanford, Doug Johnson, Chris Johnson, Fernando Olivo, Julian Merritt, Jayce Merritt and Kaylor Merritt.

He is also survived by his two brothers, Augustine Ramirez and wife, Blanca of Houston, Felix Ramirez and wife, Olivia of Nederland along with numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:30 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Service to honor Carlos’s life will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
