BOYS BASKETBALL: Memorial-Shadow Creek set for Friday in La Porte

Port Arthur Memorial’s area round game in the 5A boys basketball playoffs against Alvin Shadow Creek has been set for 7 p.m. Friday — unless it becomes part of a doubleheader — at La Porte High School, 301 E. Fairmont Pkwy.
Memorial is the home school. Tickets are $5 each for everyone at the door.
Memorial (28-5) advanced to the area round by beating Barbers Hill 73-54 in Channelview on Monday. Shadow Creek (23-6) beat Houston Sterling 92-67 in Houston that evening.
The Memorial-Shadow Creek winner will take on the winner of the area round game between the winners of Humble vs. Nederland and Houston Furr vs. Texas City. Both of those bi-district games are scheduled for tonight.
