Dwayne Eschete of Pearland shows off two of his redfish Thursday as he weighed in during the first day of the Elite Redfish Series’ Border Wars at the Carl Parker Center.
Eschete weighed in the daily limit of three fish for a total of 17.29 pounds and holds the lead after round 1. A total of 17 anglers are registered for the three-day tournament with $7,500 and a spot in the Elite All-Star Tour stop coming up in May at a location to be announced.
That tournament will award $60,000 and a Skeeter/Yamaha/McClain rig to the winner. Weigh-ins for Border Wars are 3 p.m. today and Saturday at the Carl Parker Center.
