Donald Luke Mendoza

Donald Luke Mendoza, 91, of Port Neches, Texas passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas.

Donald was born July 10, 1926 in Port Arthur, Texas to Abel Mendoza and Lucie Hebert Mendoza.  He was a lifelong resident of this area and a retired Jefferson Chemical/Texaco Chemical employee.  Donald was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and served throughout the years as a Parish Council member, Eucharistic Minister, Hospitality Minister, and Money Counter. He was also a Basketball Referee, Baseball Umpire, and a member of the Port Neches Senior Citizen Center.  Donald was a US Navy Veteran serving his country during WWII.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches with Reverend Shane Baxter officiating.  Military Graveside Rites will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Juliet Mendoza, brother, Abel Mendoza, Jr., sisters, Florence Hollier, Wilda Hebert, and Georgie Fisher, grandson, Matthew Mendoza.

Surviving relatives include his daughters, Cathy Mendoza of Beaumont, Texas, Jane Forrest and husband David of Port Neches, Texas, Jo Ellen LeBlanc and husband Derrick of Irving, Texas; sons, Paul Mendoza and husband Clay Wade of Galveston, Texas, Tim Mendoza of San Antonio, Texas, Matt Mendoza and wife Brenda of Port Neches, Texas, Andy Mendoza and wife Ericca of Port Arthur, Texas, Brian Mendoza and wife Rhonda of Port Neches, Texas; sister,  Meryle Weber of Port Neches, Texas; sister-in-law, Shirley Verret of Winnie, Texas; brother-in-law, Blaise Verret and wife Mary of Galloway, New Jersey; grandchildren, Lindsay Mendez and husband Pete, Jessica Harrell and husband Aaron, Holly Ann Domino and husband Brian, Michelle Blackwell, Carla Lopez and husband Jason, Jacob Mendoza, Olivia Mendoza, Isaac Mendoza, Myah Mendoza, Jordan LeBlanc, Maci Mendoza, Kaitlin Richard and husband Justin, and Logan Forrest; great-grandchildren, A.J. Fells, Frankie and Zoe Mendez, Zola Lopez, Carter and Kye Richard, Crockett Domino, and Isabella Harrell.
