Ray Swanzy, 87, of Port Arthur, died Friday, April 13, 2018 in Port Arthur. Ray was born September 25, 1930 in Rosebud, Texas to the late Hilliard Dale Swanzy and Helen Elizabeth McCollum Swanzy.

Ray is survived by his wife, Daisy Swanzy of Port Arthur; his daughter Rosa Lanier, and her husband Sam, of Fanette; his son Dale Swanzy of Phoenix, Arizona; his step-daughter Deborah Henley, and her husband Danny, of Arcadia, Louisiana; his step-son Randy Hartman, and his wife Erisa of Port Neches; his step-son-in-law Joe Sosa of Groves; four grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife Peg Swanzy, and step-daughter Barbara Sosa.

A gathering of the family and friends will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Melancon’s Funeral Home, 1605 Avenue H. in Nederland. A funeral service will follow at 2:00p.m. at the funeral home with interment to follow at Memory Gardens in Nederland.
