A man is in critical condition after he was shot while in a vehicle Sunday afternoon.
Port Arthur Police received a call of shots fired around 2:15 p.m. in the 1000 block of West 14th Street across from Prince Hall Apartments on the city’s West Side. While there they found the victim, described as a black male around 60 or so years old, inside a vehicle.
The victim was sent to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont then sent by medical helicopter to a Houston hospital, PAPD. Lt. Bubba Blitch said.
A vehicle of interest was identified and is described as a mid-2000s white four-door pickup truck with dark tinted windows.
Late last year a task force was formed to tackle violence at Louis Manor Apartment complex, which is less than a mile from Prince Hall Apartments. Currently off-duty officers work security at Louis Manor, 1300 Joe Louis Ave.
Persons with information about Sunday’s shooting can call Crime Stoppers of Southeast Texas at 833-TIPS.
