One injured after crane accident in Sabine Pass

SABINE PASS — A person suffered non-life threatening injuries after a crane flipped over in an industrial area in Sabine Pass on Monday.

Port Arthur Fire Battalion Chief Mike Free said the incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. on South First Avenue near Broadway Street. The victim was transported by Acadian Ambulance complaining of back pain.

The crane did leak some oil into the waterway and the U.S. Coast Guard and other agencies were notified.
