The driver of a Camaro that rear-ended a garbage truck in Hardin County last Thursday has died and his identity has been released.

Justin Dwayne Smith, 25, was involved in a motor vehicle crash on US 96 in Hardin County. Smith did not survive his injuries, the Texas Department of Public Safety said in an issued statement. He was pronounced deceased at Memorial Hermann hospital by Dr. David Meyer.
The crash occurred about five miles north of Silsbee and remains under investigation.
