Published 6:05 pm Saturday, June 16, 2018

Matt Bragga has been named to replace Wayne Graham as Rice head coach, almost a week after leading Tennessee Tech in a Super Regional against Texas.

Bragga was Tennessee Tech’s head coach for 15 seasons. The Golden Eagles finished second in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament after winning the regular-season title and turned heads in the NCAA tournament with a two-game upset of regional host Ole Miss to set up the Super Regional with the Longhorns. Tennessee Tech won Game 1, 5-4, but Texas took the next two games 4-2 and 5-2.

Bragga, a former Kentucky standout, won 446 games at Tennessee Tech.
