Multi-vehicle wreck closes SH 87 in Orange County

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a multiple vehicle wreck on SH 87 in Orange County.
DPS said in an issued statement that the wreck occurred around 7:45 a.m. near the Sabine River Authority offices.
DPS said the crash involved a truck tractor semi-trailer and other vehicles. The impact caused a fire which has closed all traffic lanes on SH 87.
Troopers and other emergency personnel were on the scene; however, crash details were limited, Sgt. Stephanie Davis said. There are reports of injuries.
At this time, all northbound and southbound traffic lanes of SH 87 are closed. There was no time estimation as to when the roadway would reopen. Motorists were urged to find an alternate travel route. Expect delays.
