Seven local women whose shining light empowers others were introduced to the public during a meet and greet earlier this week by the Christian Faith Women of Virtue Inc. leading up to the Diamond Conference 2018 at the West Side Development Center.

The honorees include:

• Elizabeth Cravens, owner and founder of Mid-America Conractors
• Tiffany Hamilton, former Port Arthur city council member ad community activist
• Arlene LeBlanc, corporate social responsibility advisor for Motiva-Port Arthur.
• LaWanda Finney, administrator with Port Arthur Independent School District
• Beulah Faye Jones, retired teacher with Port Arthur Independent School District
• Dianna Marks, retired from Port Arthur Independent School District
• Phyllis Geans, assistant superintendent for business and finance at Port Arthur Independent School District

 

The Diamond Conference will be held Aug. 8-10 at 1919 Jefferson Drive with 5:30 p.m. empowerment sessions nightly and 7:18 p.m. worship nightly. Registration is $40 and VIP registration is $50. For more information, go to www.cfwov.com

The Leading Ladies Honoree Luncheon is set for 11:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10 at the Robert A. “Bob” Bowers Civic Center. Tickets are $25 with registration and $35 without registration.

Charlotte Moses, executive director of Christian Faith Women of Virtue Inc. and a Port Arthur city council member, said the Diamond Conference is about empowering women and ultimately getting them to Christ. They are also looking to help women who are broken, who are stressed, who are overwhelmed. As in the past they are reaching out and giving away some tickets to women at the Melton Center, Franklin House, Port Cities Rescue Mission, O.W. Collins Senior Living Apartments to name a few.
