A Port Neches man charged with robbing the same Beaumont pharmacy twice was indicted Wednesday by a Jefferson County grand jury for two cases of robbery, one a second-degree felony, the other a first-degree felony.

In the first robbery, witnesses said, Floyd jumped over a counter and snatched five bottles of Promethazine. In the second robbery, police were told, he again jumped over the counter, grabbed five bottles of the same drug, and, when confronted by the same pharmacist who confronted him in the earlier robbery, said he had a gun.

The suspect ran through a side door and to a white pickup truck registered to his mother. When a store employee attempted to take a photo of Floyd, witnesses said, Floyd pointed a handgun at her.

An affidavit said Floyd’s parents said he had confirmed to his mother that he robbed the pharmacy. His parents told police he had a drug problem.

Floyd was apprehended June 22 near the intersection of Nederland Avenue and Highway 69 around 3:15 p.m.

He was taken into custody by Beaumont detectives, the Jefferson Sheriff’s office, Nederland and Port Neches police.
