Kobey Roi Smith was born November 18, 1998, to Karen LeBlanc and Calvin Smith.  He was loving, happy and was always in someone’s arms.  Kobe, as we called him, was a true blessing and was loved by so many.

Kobe believed in God at an early age and was always willing to pray. Before he could speak well, whenever we traveled he prayed for traveling grace. Following in his mom’s footsteps, he was a wiz with computers. Moreover, he loved working on cars, a skill he picked up from his grandfather.

As much as we loved him, God loved him more. On July 21, 2018, God called His child home. Waiting to receive him was his great grandmother, Doris Whitley, his grandfathers, Willie Roy Whitley and Fred Smith, Sr.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Karen LeBlanc (Fidney), his father Calvin Smith, Sr., his grandparents, Karl and Barbara Monroe, Betty Whitley, Deloris Smith, two sisters, Amesty and Amestian Smith, three brothers, Calvin Smith, Jr., Keegan and Keshaun LeBlanc, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1pm Saturday, July 28, 2018 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Services are entrusted in the care of O.W. Wiley Mortuary, Inc. 1290 Pinemont Dr. Houston, TX 77018.
