Beaumont man arrested for murder

A Beaumont man was taken to Jefferson County Jail on Saturday, after a dispute between neighbors escalated into a shooting and a homicide.
Beaumont police, who were called at 9:41 p.m., said Brian Terrell Rollins, 35, was arrested for the murder of Kendra Leday. Initial investigation showed that the homicide occurred near the intersection of Kenneth and Woodrow Avenue.
Robbins, who was taken into custody, had remained in the area. A firearm was also recovered. Rollins spoke with detectives before his arrest.
Bond was set for $500 for Rollins for a charge of theft by check. No bond was set for the murder charge, and there was an additional, mental health hold on the suspect.
