A suspected burglar landed in the Jefferson County jail Tuesday morning, after a resident, hearing a home alarm, shot him in the leg.
Beaumont police said they found Cameron Elgin Casinger, 26, on the front porch of a residence in the 600 block of Goodhue.
Police said the homeowner called around 2:30 a.m. because the burglar alarm went off. While they were en route to the home, the homeowner called a second time and said he’d shot someone breaking in to his home.
Casinger was taken to a local hospital, then to jail. He was charged with burglary of a habitation.
