Two Southwest Louisiana residents were booked into Orange County jail early Saturday, after Vidor police said the pair led them on a chase with speeds exceeding 100 m.p.h.

In an issued statement, Police Chief Rod Carroll said Robert Dale Hebert, 47, of Lake Arthur and Tiffany Michelle Jeanise, 31, of Vinton were traveling westbound in a 2012 Kia automobile reported as stolen in Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana when Vidor police gave chase around 1:16 a.m. at the Interstate 10 service road near North Main Street.

Carroll said the driver failed to stop and began to pick up speed, returning to I-10 and fleeing at speeds of more than 100 mph.

The car exited the highway at Beaumont, traveled in the vicinity of North and Magnolia streets, then returned to I-10 and Highway 69, again at speeds of more than 100 mph.

The vehicle traveled north into Hardin County before coming to a stop at a dead end at Hickory Hollow. The two occupants were captured without further incident.

Carroll said Dale was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and possession of a controlled substance.

Jeanise was charged with tampering with or fabricating physical evidence.
