Rachel T. Haley

Rachel Thibeaux Haley was born January 5, 1956 in Port Arthur, TX to the union of the late Ezekiel A. Thibeaux and Johnnie Thibeaux. Rachel passed away on January 16, 2019 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Rachel was a member of First Sixth Street Baptist Church where she served as a member of the Usher Board. She was a member of the 1975 Omega Psi Phi Debutantes and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Port Arthur Alumnae Chapter. Rachel was a 1974 graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science from Lamar University in Beaumont, TX in 1978.
Rachel was employed at Memorial High School for 14 years where she held positions as a Home Economics Teacher, Varsity Cheerleading Sponsor and Activities Coordinator. She retired in 2016. Rachel loved spending time with her family as well as sewing, cooking, and traveling all over the United States.
Leaving to cherish Rachel’s memory is her soulmate of 40 years, Kenneth Haley; two daughters, Ashley Robinson (Joshua Willis) and Megan Wiltz (Shelton); four grandchildren; Malik and Mason Robinson, Sheltiana and Hayleigh Wiltz; three sisters, Vivian and Martha Thibeaux, and Tara Thibeaux Adesanya; brother-in-law; Dwayne Haley (Vernita); sister-in-law, Ann Haley; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019, with viewing from 9 a.m. until service time at First Sixth Street Baptist Church. Rev. Kalan Gardner, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
