Katherine Elmore Lewis, 82, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Friday, February 15, 2019.  A lifelong resident of Port Arthur, she was a 1956 graduate of Lincoln High School and a faithful member of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.  Katherine retired from St. Mary’s Hospital with 28 years of service.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifton Lewis; two sisters, Lee Etta Sanders and Glenda Washington and one niece, Cherel Sanders-Smiley.

Katherine leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Clifton Ray Lewis (Madeline) and Dana G. Lewis; two brothers, Herman and Lawrence (Bernadine) Elmore; one sister, Lana Jones; two special nieces, Jane Yowman and Crystal Thierry; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church with visitation from 12 noon until service time.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
