Loma Josephine Bryant

Loma Josephine Bryant, age 101, gained her heavenly wings on February 25, 2019. Loma was born in Avoyelles Parish, Marksville, Louisiana on April 22, 1917 and was a resident of Port Arthur Texas for over 60 years. She was the youngest daughter of the late Joseph and Almeta Juneau. She lived a life full of love, loyalty, and longevity.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter (Opal Ann Braggs), and siblings. Loma is survived by her daughter, Dwonia Marie Fontnette, granddaughters Rhondalyn, Karen, Iris, Roshonda, and Ashli’, great-grandchildren Destiny, Danielle, Farad, Fate, Prince, Indica, Dillon, and Ryleigh, and great-great grandchild Michaela. She also leaves a host of god-children, nieces, nephews, and cousins she adored.
Loma was a devoted school teacher and later a school bus driver for Port Arthur Independent School District until she retired in May of 1990. Post-retirement, she served as a Foster Grandparent at Wheatley Elementary for 15 years.
Family and friends are invited to attend her home going services. Visitation will start at 8 a.m. followed by 10 a.m. mass at Sacred Heart – St. Mary Catholic Church located on 920 Washington Ave. Saturday, March 9, 2019. Port Arthur, Texas 77640; burial will be at Live Oak Memorial Park.
