Nederland man dies in Alabama wreck

A Nederland man has died and another one injured after a two-vehicle wreck in Alabama on Saturday.
Steven Stone Stewart, 47, was killed when the 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe he was riding in made contact with an unknown vehicle, left the roadway, and overturned. Stewart was airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida where he died from his injuries, according to information from the Alabama Highway Patrol.
The driver of the Chevrolet, James Pittman, 55, of Nederland, was injured and transported to Atmore Community Hospital in Alabama. The vehicle that left the scene of the crash is believed to be a mini-van, blue in color. Anyone with any information about this crash is encouraged to call Alabama State Troopers at 251-578-1315. The crash occurred on I-65 at the 67.1 mile marker, 16 miles west of Flomaton.
