Truck fire halts traffic on I-10

Westbound traffic on Interstate 10 near FM 1442 was slowed early Thursday when a commercial vehicle caught fire.
First-responders were sent to the scene around 1:30a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety said in a prepared statement.
Preliminary reports indicated that a commercial motor vehicle was traveling westbound on Interstate 10 when the vehicle experienced mechanical issues. The driver, 38, from Mississippi, stopped the vehicle and was able to get out of the truck tractor semi-trailer before it caught fire.
Only a single westbound lane shortly after 7 a.m. as crews cleared charred debris. Motorists are urged to use caution.
The driver was not injured.
