NCAA all-time steals leader Chastadie Barrs and fellow Lamar senior Moe Kinard were named to the Southland Conference All-Academic Team.

Barrs was honored as such for the second time. She is the only four-time Southland defensive player of the year and set national career (649) and single-season (193) records for steals in 2019. She also is the just the second NCAA player to total 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 500 assists and 500 steals.

Kinard scored a Lamar-record 58 points, including an NCAA-record 13 three-pointers, against Denver earlier this season and led Lamar with 21.6 points per game. Her 45.8 percent shooting from the floor is a career high.
