A seventh-inning charge by Northwestern State eventually cost Lamar a doubleheader sweep in Southland Conference softball Friday.

Northwestern State scored six runs in the seventh to erase a 2-0 lead and staved off a Lamar comeback in a 6-5 victory. The game followed a 4-3 Lamar win.

With one out, the Demons hit a one-run single and three-run double to chase Erin Kyle out of the circle. They then smashed a one-run triple and hit a sacrifice fly off Julia Voluntad.

The series finale is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday.
