Snake bit: Coast Guard medevacs mariner

CORPUS CHRISTI — The Coast Guard medevaced a mariner near Espiritu Santo Bay on Tuesday evening.
Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watchstanders received a report around 7 p.m. that a 57-year-old mariner had been bitten by a snake while mooring his sailing vessel for the night.
A Coast Guard Station Port O’Connor 29-foot Response Boat-Small boat crew arrived on scene and transferred the mariner to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at The Sanctuary at Costa Grande near Port O’Connor.
The mariner was reported to be in stable condition.
