Martha J. Washington, 101, was born January 20, 1918.

She entered life of everlasting Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Senior Rehabilitation Nursing Center in Port Arthur, TX.

Martha was former first lady of Seventh Street Baptist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Deanna Washington, Denise Willis (John), Mercy Cook, Delores Washington Garrett; one sister Magnolia Smith; one godchild, Carol Benjamin; ten grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 248 E. 18th Street, Port Arthur, TX with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time.

Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
