Liz Bolyard’s 17 kills and Halley Smith’s 10 digs led Port Neches-Groves to a three-set volleyball sweep of Memorial on Tuesday in Port Arthur.
Kasidee Sartin’s 16 assists and Paxton Shults’ 15 helped the Rock-A-Noos in a 25-10, 25-10, 25-13 victory. Maylin Louvier and Sarah Grove contributed to the win with seven and five kills, respectively; and Kaylee Hooper, Sartin and Shults combined for 15 digs.
Statistics for Memorial were not available.
PNG (17-19, 7-3 in 21-5A) has a home match against Barbers Hill set for 6:30 p.m. Friday and will close out the regular season at Vidor on Tuesday. Memorial (0-10 in 21-5A) has a visit to Cleveland for 6:30 p.m. Friday and a home match against Dayton on Tuesday remaining.
Nederland 3, Cleveland 0
In Cleveland, Hannah Hickey’s nine kills and three blocks helped the Bulldogs pull out a 25-7, 25-19, 25-19 win, pulling them one step closer to securing second place in District 21-5A.
Katie Perez’s six kills, six digs and two aces and Kamren Savarino’s 23 assists and two aces carried Nederland. Kaylee Adams finished with 16 digs and two aces, and Rylee Bolser, Karley McGill and Hannah Torres each made five kills.
Nederland’s regular-season finale is Friday at home against Dayton, with a 6:30 p.m. start time. The Bulldogs will take a bye Tuesday.
Sabine Pass 3, Hull-Daisetta 0
Winning a first-set tiebreaker set the Sharks in course in their regular season finale at Daisetta.
Nevaeh Jones’ nine kills and three aces led Sabine Pass in a 28-26, 25-13, 25-17 victory. Yainn Zuniga had seven kills, six aces and five digs, Joanna Smolsky spiked six kills and Charnel Jones threw in five kills in the win.
Brookyn Dixon and Kayla Dominick combined for seven kills. Dominick came in clutch on two solid blocks.
Jamesia Jones and Kennedy LeJune combined for nine digs.
Sabine Pass (18-8, 10-4 in 24-2A) is awaiting to find out its playoff destination.
