The new district alignments for schools in the University Interscholastic League will be revealed Monday.

The UIL, last fall, revealed the classification for each school in the 2020-22 reclassification cycle.

Memorial, with 1,997 students, had just enough to remain in 5A Division I for football, surpassing the cutoff number between Divisions I and II by 76 students.

Beaumont United is dropping to 5A Division I with 2,145 students and will likely join Memorial’s district.

Port Neches-Groves (1,505) and Nederland (1,451) will remain in 5A Division II.

Sabine Pass (134) is expected to return to competition in 2A Division II after taking the 2019 football season off to play an independent schedule.

Classifications are not split into divisions for any other sport or activity. It is likely Memorial, Nederland and PNG will continue to compete in the same non-football district with United joining.
