A man was shot Thursday near a Port Arthur convenience store, authorities said.

The Port Arthur Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from 4149 32nd St., Sindhu C Store at approximately 11:41 a.m.

Det. Mike Hebert officers arrived in the area and located a male “who had sustained a gunshot wound.”

The individual was taken to a local hospital, where Hebert said he is listed in “critical but stable condition.”

The shooting is under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division.

Port Arthur Police did not immediately release additional details about the shooting or any suspect information.
