4 arrested in Beaumont murder

BEAUMONT — Beaumont police have arrested four people in connection with the April 11 shooting death of Anthony Wilson.
Police arrested Barnard Bell, 26; and three West Brook High School students — Jamirious Jantrel Gardner, 17; John James Cook, 18; and an unnamed 15-year-old for Wilson’s death.
Bell is the brother of one of the suspects and was charged with tampering with evidence and felon in possession of a firearm.
Preliminary investigation showed that three male suspects committed several auto burglaries in the Dowlen West neighborhood Thursday night, including at the victim’s house, according to the Beaumont Police Department.
Police believe Wilson, 37, confronted the suspect or suspects in the 6800 block of Madrid at which time the victim was shot and his truck stolen.
A short time later, the victim’s vehicle was found abandoned in the 400 block of Norwalk.
