Port Arthur man found murdered in home

The death of a Port Arthur man from an apparent attack is being investigated as a homicide by Port Arthur Police.

A family member of Michael Reed, 29, found him unresponsive at a home in the 1700 block of 10th Street around 12:30 p.m. Friday, Port Arthur Police Sgt. Scott Gaspard said. It is unknown at this time how long the man was deceased.

Reed’s injuries were consistent with being attacked and after a thorough examination of the crime scene police are treating the death as a homicide.

Investigators will continue to interview family, friends and neighbors in an attempt to determine the circumstances surrounding his death, according to a press release from PAPD Maj. Raymond Clark.
