Nederland High School Football Player to Signs Letter of Intent with Navy

Nederland High School football player Ellis Walker signed a letter of intent with Naval Academy next season.

“[Its] something every kid dreams of you know, having that ability to go out there and play division one,” said Walker.

The linebacker celebrated the occasion with his family and teammates at the Nederland High School Gym.

“It’s been a journey, I know it has been a long time coming there is no way I could have seen this coming, but we are very very happy and we couldn’t have done it without the village, my heart is indebted to a lot of you,” said Jody Walker, Ellis’ Father.

The Walker family was also joined by friends and fellow students from the school to take pictures and share memories of the past season.

Walker suffered from a season-ending knee injury in the first game of the season but is still has high expectations for himself in the upcoming season.

“I feel great. I think my rehab’s coming along really well and I think that I would be a way better athlete when I get back fully healthy and better than what I was before,” said Walker.

Walker will play at the Naval Academy for the 2025-2026 season in Annapolis, Maryland.
