Position 7 Port Arthur City Councilman Derrick Freeman and his wife Shannon welcomed a new daughter into the family late Monday.
Harbin Rose Freeman was born at 11:41 p.m. June 1 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Baby Harbin weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces. Both mother and baby are doing good, Freeman said.
“We are excited. The delivery was quick and we’ve got a healthy little girl,” he said.
With the new daughter, the couple now has six children between them ranging in age from 15 to newborn — enough to keep the Councilman’s schedule hectic.
“Between the potholes and kids, and my wife’s own schedule, we are pretty busy these days,” Freeman said. “But, she’s just beautiful, and we couldn’t be happier.”
