Leedward J. “L.J.” Vincent

Leedward J. “L.J.” Vincent, 90, of Port Neches, died Monday, June 29, 2015. He was born on September 23, 1924, in Leroy, Louisiana, to Louise Breaux and Joseph Vincent.
Leedward was a United States Army Air Corps veteran. He retired from Texas U.S. Rubber as a warehouse supervisor after thirty plus years of service. Leedward enjoyed fishing, gardening, and cooking. He was a member of the Port Neches Council #2461, Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his sons, Ron Vincent and his wife, Pat, of Montgomery; Paul Vincent and his wife, Pam, of Beaumont; and Joey Vincent and his wife, Judy, of Nederland; daughter, Pearl Pool and her husband, Robert, of Port Neches; grandchildren, Brandy Vincent, Brian Vincent, Hazel Reidy, David Pool, Shayla McLaurin, Brandon Vincent, and Joshua Vincent; and great-grandchildren, Breanna Bailey, Cullen McLaurin, and Addison McLaurin.
He preceded in death by his parents; wife of seventy-one years, Helen Vincent; three brothers; and six sisters.
A gathering of Mr. Vincent’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His Rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 2, 2015, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 2006 Nall Street, Port Neches. His interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Vincent’s memory to Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas, 2780 Eastex Freeway, Beaumont, Texas 77703.
