A woman died Monday morning from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Port Arthur.
Port Arthur police indicated in a press statement issued Monday the accident occurred in the 3800 block of Gulfway Drive.
Witnesses at the scene said the had observed a tan Buick traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which struck an electrical pole.
The vehicle was occupied by four women, one of which was fatally injured. The other three women are in stable condition.
Police have not yet released the identity of deceased.
The accident is currently under investigation by the Port Arthur Criminal Investigations Division.
